Students in Arabic Studies have many valuable opportunities to engage with faculty, classmates, and the local community. Students are able to closely engage in pressing global issues through a more personal experience.
Students in Arabic Studies may:
- Teach Arabic to children at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London
- Recite Arabic poetry with the faculty at the College's night of international poetry
- Take a bus trip with the faculty to visit places like New York City to see museums and other cultural destinations
- Practice Arabic calligraphy and henna in a cultural workshop
This close engagement enables a unique kind of learning that continues outside the classroom.
