Undergraduate student researchers added scores of additional cement reef balls to expand an artificial reef in the Thames River, at the edge of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s campus, in June. The effort, designed to restore natural ecosystems and reverse erosion at the edge of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s campus, comes as part of a $177,00 grant awarded to Maria Rosa, the George & Carol Milne Assistant Professor of Biology at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ.

Summer Civic Leaders Wilson Hernandez ‘26 and Bella Castellano Palacios ‘25 offer the final presentation on their project Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Cro’s Nest. Pairs of students, generally rising second and third year, are matched with community organizations through the Holleran Center for Community Action and the Community Foundation of Eastern 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏecticut.
