Ana Lilia Campos-Manzo, PhD, formerly Campos-Holland, teaches general courses in sociology and specialized courses in criminology, critical childhood, public health, and ethnic studies, such as:

She also offers optional sections attached to these courses for the Foreign Languages across the Curriculum Program in Spanish. Moreover, Campos-Manzo is one of the core faculty members for the Public Health Pathway.  

Her research expertise is criminology and childhood/adolescence with a focus on health.

Campos-Manzo is currently working on a qualitative project titled “Playground Negotiations.” It takes a youth-centered and participant-driven methodological approach to address what is significantly relevant in the everyday lives of youth of color. As a result, the project addresses a variety of topics, including: youth peer culture, friendships, social media, music, video games, racism, sexism, classism, adultism, health, law, and everyday life across schools, community places, homes, and public spaces. The latest data collection for this longitudinal research project explores how Covid19 transformed adolescence for youth of color within a community context. Ultimately, this project aims to create a platform for youth’s voices to be heard.
